A Supreme Win for Academic Freedom
In the 1960s, Harry Keyishian was at the center of a landmark case before the Supreme Court that essentially ended the era of loyalty oaths in education. Now an FDU professor emeritus, Keyishian recalls the case, the atmosphere of the times and the ruling’s impact across the land.

FDU Grad's Inspiring Tale
Ivana Viani’s dreams, much like the road she has traveled, seem to have no boundaries. Raised amid poverty and violence in Croatia, she moved to the United States with less than $100. But she worked hard, entered community college and then FDU, where she excelled. Now, she’s at Harvard Medical School. Read her incredible story.

Peter Lombardi, BS'09

It's Greek to Us
Is the United States facing a foreign-language crisis? Americans are among the least likely to speak a foreign language, writes FDU’s Kathleen Stein-Smith, who considers the consequences of that deficit and offers encouragement and suggestions to address the problem.

Partnering with Community Colleges
Fairleigh Dickinson University’s close connections with community colleges have enabled hundreds of students to achieve their goal of a college degree and to launch successful careers. FDU Magazine profiles several students who have benefited from these special partnerships.
