The Jokes are on Them! — Web Exclusives

Aananas Comedy Club owners Arlene Judis Jamison, BA'68 (T), and Harlan Jamison, BA'68 (T), have been booking comedy acts for 24 years. The Jamisons have played host to some of the nation’s biggest comedy stars, including Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Tim Allen, Jeff Dunham, Jamie Foxx and Brian Regan. Join us for a virtural visit to Bananas Comedy Club!

Stephanie Holmes has been featured at Caroline’s Comedy Club, as a finalist in “The New York's Funniest” Contest for The New York Comedy Festival. She has performed all over the tri-state area including Bananas in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. Watch as she performs to a crowded house, and deals with Chuck the heckler.

Bill Ervolino, a frequent Bananas performer, appeared at the Hasbrouck Heights club in a fundraiser for Gilda’s Club, a national cancer support community with a local office in Hacksack, N.J., just blocks from FDU’s Metropolitan Campus. Ervolino is an award-winning humor columnist at The Record in Hackensack. On his blog, he reports that he “began writing in 1976, and, since then, has stopped only once — in 1983 — to get a drink of water.”

John Pinette has been entertaining audiences for more than 15 years. About his act Pinette says, “For some reason, people enjoy seeing me lose my cherub-like demeanor.” His breakout came when he was asked to tour with none other than New Jersey’s own Frank Sinatra. Since then he has done regular television performances including on “The Tonight Show” and “The View.” Also an actor, his roles include guest starring in films and television series — most notably as the car-jacking victim in the final episode of “Seinfeld.”
